Yoga is not a fast path. It unfolds like the slow ripening of fruit. Success in yoga comes not from force or haste, but from steady effort, guided by wisdom and humility. Patience is the soil in which the seeds of compassion grow. And compassion is the sunlight that allows patience to soften into grace.

In the stillness of sincere practice, patience (kṣamā) and compassion (karuṇā) are not just virtues to cultivate—they are essential gateways to liberation. Patience is not passive endurance, but the strength to remain steady amidst change. It is the willingness to stay, to witness, and to wait with full presence.

Compassion, too, is central to the yogic worldview. Karuṇā is not pity; it is the trembling of the heart in response to suffering, arising not from superiority, but from deep recognition of shared humanity and interbeing.

To walk the path of yoga is to slow down, to feel deeply, and to act from love rather than reactivity. Patience gives us time to remember. Compassion reminds us why it all matters.

Holding our teacher closely in our hearts, feeling

Holding our teacher closely in our hearts, feeling his presence in the room as we share the practice. He was standing here just over six months ago, smiling, laughing, assisting us all. We hope his grace is still with us, passing through us, guiding us.

Our summer Mysore Season is off to a powerful start. We have organized two batches of beautiful students from all over the world. A group of super committed students will stay the full month and do our Practitioner’s Intensive.

We look forward to seeing you on the mat for practice where @timfeldmannyoga and I, along with some wonderful assistants will be in the Mysore room every day.

You can still join us @miamilifecenter in June this year for the remaining weeks! For next year, we will have Winter Mysore Season in January and Summer Mysore Season again in June next year! Come practice 🙏

Some things just take practice. But if we don’t know what or how to practice, we might be wasting precious energy.

Urdhva Mukha Paschimottanasana is a blend of strength and flexibility. It demands not just muscular effort, but also refined control over the spine to roll up smoothly and find balance at the top. Once you’ve captured that balance, the key is to ground the femurs—this downward action stabilizes the hips and opens the gateway to a deep forward fold.

This isn’t just about “doing the pose.” It’s about understanding the mechanics behind it: spine, core, hips, and breath working together. That’s where practice becomes transformation.

Join Tim and me on the mat in the Mysore room as we explore this asana and so much more together.

Mallorca is our next stop after this month’s Mysore season. This short tutorial was filmed during our two week retreat in Mallorca @balearicretreats We love this island in the Mediterranean and look forward to spending two weeks there immersed in Ashtanga Yoga this summer and we hope you’ll join us.

The practice isn’t just something we do on the mat—it’s our guide through darkness, confusion, and uncertainty. Yoga grounds us when life feels turbulent, reconnecting us to inner wisdom and clarity.

Life often presents us with sharp edges—stress, uncertainty, and emotional upheavals—that can leave us feeling ungrounded and reactive. In these moments, yoga serves as our GPS, guiding us back to center.

Life often brings waves of uncertainty and turbulence—moments when stress, anxiety, and confusion leave us feeling disconnected and adrift. In these times, being grounded isn’t just beneficial; it’s essential. Grounding gives us stability and clarity, helping us navigate challenges without being swept away by them.

Yoga is uniquely powerful because it reconnects us to something steady and reliable within ourselves. It provides a consistent anchor through breath awareness, mindful movement, and meditation. Instead of stumbling through darkness, yoga teaches us to pause, breathe, and listen deeply. Through practice, we cultivate resilience, inner strength, and trust in our own intuitive wisdom.

Yoga doesn’t eliminate life’s difficulties but equips us with the tools to face them skillfully. Each breath, posture, and moment of mindfulness strengthens our ability to weave through life’s tapestry with resilience and compassion.
