Before I started practicing yoga, I felt like there was never enough time—no time to focus on the things that give life meaning, no time for family or friends. Yet, despite this sense of urgency, I was spending too much time lost in my devices or, worse, spiraling in endless rumination. The truth is, there is far more time than we realize, and it’s far more precious than we tend to acknowledge. Every second that passes is gone forever, and we don’t get a single moment of this life back. But here’s the paradox: just a few minutes of focused attention, of true presence, can transform the entire quality of a day.

It’s easy to lose sight of what matters. Our minds constantly chase after distractions, lured by the next shiny thing that promises happiness. But yoga teaches us a different approach—it teaches us to return to ourselves, to ground in the present moment. This journey is far from glamorous. It’s humble, and humbling, to commit to the work of spiritual growth. There are no shortcuts, no prizes waiting at the finish line and maybe even no finish line at all. What we have is the quiet, consistent effort we bring to the mat, again and again. And in that effort, we rediscover what truly matters.

Guess how long I stayed in the ice bath and how ma

Guess how long I stayed in the ice bath and how many times I did it!

The sauna was called the dragon sauna and it topped out at 100C. They said our phones would melt and metal jewelry would burn our skin.

I only managed to stay so long in the cold because of this Nordic fire sauna lit by birch wood in a real sauna oven. You can catch a glimpse of the whole experience in my stories.

Happy birthday sauna and cold plunge day. This is where the tradition comes from and I celebrated my birthday in true Scandinavian style.

Deepening the practice of yoga is more about turni

Deepening the practice of yoga is more about turning the attention inwards than it is about getting more bendy. Strength is a state of mind as much if not more than it is an expression in the body.

The more I teach the more I want to provide students with the tools for the more subtle aspects of the practice. I stead of only teaching asana, I am also teaching meditation, philosophy, breath work and other more contemplative practices. It’s all about creating a sustainable practice, one that can be with us for every day of our whole lives.

It might sounds strange, but the more concentrated

It might sounds strange, but the more concentrated the mind becomes the bigger and more expensive the field of awareness can be. The more difficult is it to concentrate than the narrow and smaller the fields of conscious awareness will be.

It is almost like the mind needs to express spiritual intelligence first by concentrating on a single point of attention, and then, because the mind is able to dive so deeply into that small single point, then it is as if the infinite opens up through a tunnel. This is where the poet Williams Blake says that eternity can be found in grain of sand.

It’s this idea that through the smallest point of concentration there is expansion that can come through. But if the mind is not able to concentrate on that point, then it’s as though the whole universe is gone from us and and we’re only able to really be aware of our immediate surroundings and our immediate needs.
