Don’t worry, I’m not at any risk of falling off this ledge. I’m not a climber or a big risk taker, so I am always safe. Did you know that more people die each year taking selfies that shark attacks and the number is increasing? Not to mention how many yoga practitioners hurt themselves trying to get that perfect photo. It’s all good and fun in the moment, but it’s also important to curb our enthusiasm and keep it safe.

Thanks to everyone for an awesome weekend @spaceyoga I will be back in Taiwan again for a longer course of teaching. Hope to see you there.

After all these years I’m still here doing my th

After all these years I’m still here doing my thing. While yoga in the streets is almost ordinary by now, I still have fun with it. But more than that, yoga and the spiritual path are my life. I’ve been practicing and teaching for nearly over 20 years. While I do sense a shift in how I want to teach, there is nothing that gives me more joy than sharing the authentic practice with sincere students.

Happiness is found in moments of connection, in unexpected joy, in the thrill of adventure and the new, and in appreciation for every blessing no matter how big or small.

Where do you find happiness?

I am still processing how deeply moving my trip to Vietnam was. This series of photos where the awesome @tpy_academy team dressed me in an áo dài and we went to the historic city of Hội An are some of my favorite. I was so far out of my comfort zone wearing this outfit but they insisted and a student made this for me. I feel like I’ve just stepped out of a fairytale. What do you think?

What’s usually in a handstand? Strength, focus,

What’s usually in a handstand? Strength, focus, flexibility, balance, and maybe a little fear, excitement, empowerment and faith. All good things worthy of pursuing in an of themselves.

What’s not necessarily in a handstand? The guarantee of spiritual develop, samadhi, meditation, transcendent peace. These more esoteric concepts are what define yoga as a spiritual practice.

What tool is used in the yoga practice has inner awakening as it’s highest goal. There are many tools in yog, not only asana, although asana is powerful and effective.

Straight line handstand starts off with solid tech

Straight line handstand starts off with solid technique. Stack the shoulders over the hands, stack the rib cage over the shoulders, stack the hips over the rib cage, and stack the legs over the hips. Orient your awareness towards the vertical axis of the body and draw everything inward.

Don’t bend the elbows, internally rotate the shoulders, and start jumping before you feel your foundation stable.

Let me also just say that the student needs no help to find the center line and handstand. He is absolutely awesome! All the students here and Vietnam have been absolutely amazing. I look forward to coming back soon and sharing more of the practice with everyone.
