Grief changes the shape of the path.

There are some losses that cannot be repaired or replaced. They ask us to live differently. They ask us to practice differently. They ask us to listen more deeply for what still remains. For so many of us, SharathJi was not only a teacher of asana, but a guardian of discipline, devotion, and the sacred fire of the lineage. His passing left a space that can never be filled, and yet within that space, something else continues to glow.

In this episode of the Yoga Inspiration Podcast, I am joined by @timfeldmannyoga, @josepharmstrongyoga, @edgarinmotion, Francis Cole Jones, and @heather_serna for a special conversation recorded in remembrance of SharathJi, reflecting on his life, his teaching, and the quiet ways his presence continues to live on through practice. What remains after the loss of a teacher is not only sorrow, but the responsibility to carry the teachings forward with sincerity, humility, and steadiness.

This episode is an offering to memory, to studentship, and to the invisible thread that continues between teacher, student, and practice. Through stories, reflection, and shared remembrance, we honor not only who he was, but what he awakened in all of us. The practice continues. The teaching continues. The love continues.

May we keep showing up with open hearts.
May we carry the lineage with care.
May we remember that what is most sacred is not possessed, but lived.

Just for fun 😊 Handstand play on my last morning in beautiful Bali. I’m not the best at handstands by far but they bring me so much joy (probably because I am not naturally good at strength and inversions).

Feeling so much gratitude for this time here, and already looking forward to three weeks next year!

Yoga is not simply a technique, a performance, or

Yoga is not simply a technique, a performance, or a philosophy to admire from afar. It is a lived discipline. Only through sustained effort can the practice be applied with wisdom and integrated into daily life. There is no substitute for sincere, continuous practice.

Yoga is a lifelong process of refinement in which breath, body, and mind gradually align with a deeper awareness. The results cannot be measured by the shapes of the poses. Rather, yoga is known in the quiet transformation of the heart. It is experienced inwardly by every earnest practitioner and reflected outwardly as a life marked by greater clarity, compassion, and harmony.

These amazing weeks in Bali have filled our hearts with the spirit of Ashtanga, beautiful students, wonderful assistants, loving community. We are already looking forward to next year for three weeks!
