The illusive l-sit is not just a power move. Finding the dynamic range of motion to support the lift up is key to finding ease in this asana.

Try these drills to build the proprioception and active flexibility that will unlock this lift up for you.

Which of the three drills here do you think will help you the most?

Swinging the hips back-and-forth, build the awareness of how to drag the hips back. Working a tight spinal compression will help. Keep your thighs close to the body. Articulating the movements fluidly allows a sense of ease while practicing.

Parivṛtta Pārśvakoṇāsana, or Revolved Side

Parivṛtta Pārśvakoṇāsana, or Revolved Side Angle Pose, is more than just a twist, it is a journey into balance, grounding, and expansion. This posture asks us to root deeply into the earth while simultaneously spiraling open toward clarity. It strengthens the legs, tones the core, supports digestion, and creates space along the spine.

In the classical form, the back heel presses firmly into the ground as the torso revolves, drawing the chest open and extending the top arm overhead. But yoga is never one-size-fits-all. Variations make this pose accessible for every body, from high lunge or knee down to supported chair twists.

What matters most is not forcing the body into a perfect shape, but cultivating presence in every breath.Remember that each inhale lengthens the spine, each exhale deepens the spiral. Let this pose become an offering of strength and surrender, effort and release. The geometry of the body is simply a vessel, the real work is the inner transformation that happens when we meet the challenge with awareness and grace.

The thread of classical Ashtanga practice weaves together with moments of experimentation, with humor, with joy, and with love. Here, laughter has its place, but so does the stillness of focus and introspection.

We honor the uniqueness of every practitioner. All bodies are welcome, all journeys respected. Guidance is offered not to impose, but to support, as an invitation to grow while preserving autonomy. Adjustments arise from trust, consent, and collaboration, a dialogue more than a directive.

The space we seek to hold rests on firm ethical ground, a sanctuary where safety, integrity, and respect center each interaction. With humility and gratitude for the lineage and teachers, we hope their presence is never far.

The philosophy of yoga is not abstract here but lived and integrated—a daily practice that honors yoga’s Indian roots while finding form in our modern lives.

Above all, our Mysore room is a place to be inspired. To continue. To return, again and again, to the practice that carries us forward.

Attention is the most precious currency we possess. Wherever the mind wanders, there we invest the wealth of our being. No marketplace, no palace, no plot of land is more valuable than the intimate landscape of our own thoughts. What we allow to dwell in those recurring loops quietly fashions the architecture of our lives, drawing us again and again toward its orbit.

Yoga reminds us that we are not captives of our thoughts. We can choose where to place the gaze of the mind, and in that choice lies the freedom to redirect the current of our energy. Left unexamined, unconscious patterns write the script of our lives while story and reality become so entangled that it is difficult to distinguish one from the other.

But we are not bound to rehearse the same tired loops of fear, anger, or judgment. We can consciously turn toward kindness, patience, and clarity, even when the opposite seems louder.

In our daily lives this practice might look simple—pausing before we speak, choosing gratitude instead of resentment, or redirecting attention from the endless scroll of social media to the steady rhythm of breath. Each small act of choosing reclaims the sovereignty of attention. And each act reminds us that where we place our awareness determines not only what we see, but who we become. This is both practical and profound.
