There’s a question about the name of this asana that I think only Krishnamacharya, my teacher’s teacher, could answer. Students of Pattabhi Jois call this pose Vasisthasana and students of Iyengar and later students of Krishnamacharya call this pose Vishwamitrasana. I’ve always figured that if you integarte both of these two poses in your practice, the energy of both sages will flow through you. So at that point, maybe it doesn’t matter. But, what do you think? Who got it right?

We cannot measure practice by strength, flexibilit

We cannot measure practice by strength, flexibility, or appearance. Each of us is accountable to our own inner witness. It may be possible to deceive the world, but the heart knows. When practice ripens, it leads us toward compassion rather than division, toward humility rather than authority.

Strength cultivated through yoga is not meant to dominate or diminish. True power uplifts. It creates space. It carries others forward with us. When language hardens into hostility or certainty turns into separation, something essential has been lost.

Yoga does not ask us to withdraw from the world. It asks us to meet it with clarity, steadiness, and care. Practice continues beyond the mat, inviting us to act without hatred, to speak with responsibility, and to remember our shared humanity.

We are stronger together. The practice keeps pointing us back to that truth.

Yoga is more than stretching. Anyone who practices sincerely begins to feel this from the inside. What starts as movement gradually becomes listening. What starts as effort turns into inquiry. Practice draws the senses inward, toward the quieter terrain of the heart, where clarity and conscience begin to emerge.

The yogic tradition has always reminded us that the real work is internal. When the mind becomes steady, we do not become empty. We become capable of seeing clearly. And from that clarity, our actions begin to matter more, not less. Yoga is not just technique. It is transformation.
